The EEL tidal turbine, energy conversion
by undulating membrane.
- The EEL Energy membrane optimizes energy transfer by fluid/structure coupling. This induces an undulation of the membrane.
- The membrane undulates under the pressure of the moving fluid. These periodic deformations of the structure are transformed into electricity via an electromechanical system.
- The entire surface of the membrane is an energy sensor.
- A control loop allows to optimize the energy capture according to the incident current.
- The technology is internationally patented.

A tidal turbine with encouraging performances.
Technological advantages of the EEL® Energy tidal turbine
- Possibility of high power 10MW.
- No cavitation problems.
- Smaller footprint compared to the power collected.
- Automatic orientation to the current, captures 100% of the current.
- High density of tidal farms.
- Low fluid speed start-up (0.7 m/s).
- Installation near the coast is possible (shallow depth).
- Machine that adapts to the speed of the current for optimal operation.
- Many potential uses.
- No Betz limit, which limits the recovery of propeller systems.
